Work to resurface a Gerrards Cross road has been brought forward due to “further deterioration”.

Around £60,000 will be spent on resurfacing Packhorse Road tonight and tomorrow night as part of a £15 million investment by Bucks County Council to maintain Buckinghamshire’s roads.

The 230-metre section from Kingsway to North Park was originally planned for repair in the late summer by Transport for Buckinghamshire.

The work will include repairs to kerbs and manholes as well as renewal of road markings, which will result in the road being closed to traffic between 7pm and 6am today (June 6) and tomorrow (June 7).

Bucks County Council said residents have been informed and any diversions will be “clearly signed”. Help will also be on hand to advise motorists.

Mark Shaw, cabinet member for transport, said: “Bringing this work forward means that we can make a longer lasting repair to this road now, rather than patching it and having to make the same repair more than once.”
