UPDATE: Landlord says he will bar any late-night troublemakers

A town centre pub’s opening hours have been extended until 6am.

High Wycombe pub The Antelope will now be able to serve people until the very early hours of the morning at weekends after being granted permission by Wycombe District Council.

Customers will be able to enter the Church Square bar until 2am and closing can now go as late as 6am on Friday and Saturdays and 3am during the week.

The pub is currently run by former doorman Mark Adkins who last year said he hoped to return it the heart of the community a year after it was almost gone for good.

There have been many fears in the past that the historic pub might be forced to close last year, and speaking to the Bucks Free Press 12 months ago, Mr Adkins said he hoped rejuvenating the business will help improve nightlife in the town.

Only customers working at others pubs, bars and clubs in the town centre will be enter the pub after 2am.
