Wycombe's Sam Vokes was back amongst the goals on the weekend as he got his first of the season in a 3-1 away defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
His ninth-minute strike got the Chairboys on level terms after going a goal down inside the opening 60 seconds, with his inaugural goal of the campaign being his first in five matches for the club
Manager Gareth Ainsworth was pleased to see the Welsh forward back amongst the goals and hopes his return can help project Wycombe up the table.
He said: βWith players being out and Sam coming back and getting his first goal for us is crucial and a massive positive there for me.

"Some good performances from some key players for me today.
βWhen I get everyone back, I just want that platform hopefully, to challenge for the top end of this league; although we are one of the smaller clubs in the league, we really do put a bat above our weight and hopefully we can do that.β
Having signed for Wycombe from Stoke City at the start of last season, the former Welsh international was instrumental in helping the Chairboys reach the playoff final scoring 17 goals in 46 league games.
Braces in a 4-1 thumping of Cambridge United and a spectacular 5-5 draw against Cheltenham Town ensured they stayed amongst the promotion chasers for the entire season.

His consistent form throughout the 2021/22 campaign paid off when he Barnt a one-year extension just before the playoff final.
Wycombe will now be hoping the striker can replicate that form to elevate the Chairboys' up the table after an indifferent start to the season.
With games coming thick and fast Vokes will be hoping to be amongst the goals again on Saturday as his side face Plymouth Argyle at Adams Park.
