Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has described his side’s 1-1 draw against Lincoln City as ‘frustrating’, as the Chairboys conceded an injury-time equaliser.

Ethan Erhahon’s 97th-minute looping strike rescued the Imps an unlikely point at Adams Park in a match which the home side should have won comfortably.

After Dale Taylor’s header on 27 minutes put Wycombe ahead, Sam Vokes, Kieran Sadlier, Garath McCleary and Freddie Potts all tried their luck but to no avail.

Nervousness started to hit the Chairboys in the final few moments as Max Stryjek produced three brilliant stops before Erhahon’s finish in the final seconds of the contest shared the points.

It is the eighth time this season that Wycombe have conceded an injury-time goal in the league.

Bloomfield said: “We've been building momentum in recent weeks and we felt like we could win the game today [January 13].

“It’s another late goal so we’ll need to look into why this keeps happening again and try and stop it.

“Just like Port Vale [on December 23], we should have won but when it’s only 1-0 and you don’t get put your chances away, you run the risk of conceding a late goal and that’s happened to us.

“I can’t question the player’s desire, not at all, but we need to see why this keeps happening.

“We got the boys out of the blocks again and we’ve done that well in recent games so I’m happy with the way we attacked - I can’t question their commitment as they are good guys who are giving everything.

“But, we’re frustrated.

“We need to keep moving forward so for that not to happen is frustrating, but at the same time, it’s another point to our total.

“Six minutes of injury time is then extended, then extended again, and then they find a couple of extra minutes with seconds to go which is frustrating and bizarre.

“Everyone who is watching us can see that the performances are there, that we are creating opportunities to score, there is a lot of application and desire from our boys, but little things are going against us.”

Wycombe currently sit 14th in the table, 16 points off the top six and seven clear of the relegation places.
