Joe Jacobson made his 400th and final appearance for Wycombe Wanderers as the Chairboys defeated Charlton Athletic 1-0 at Adams Park.

There was a party-like atmosphere in South Buckinghamshire with both sides not in danger of relegation, and not in the hunt for promotion on the season’s final day.

And it was Wanderers who started the game at an electrifying pace as they took an early lead.

Richard Kone, who has become a fan favourite since his move from Non League Athletic Newham in January, was tripped by Terrell Thomas and referee Elliott Bell had no option but to point to the spot.

Up stepped Luke Leahy who converted with ease to secure his 12th of the campaign, with it being his 11th in the league.

Wanderers should have doubled their lead as Harry Isted did well to deny Chris Forino, Jack Grimmer and Dale Taylor, whilst Charlton hit the through a Lewis Fiorini free-kick.

Wycombe end the season in 10th whilst the Addicks end the campaign in 17th.
