I have only been with my boyfriend for 3 months & I have just found out that I’m pregnant. He doesn’t think the baby is his & won’t speak to me. I try calling or texting but he just ignores me, I’m feeling totally rejected & frightened.
Rosie, 16, Hazelmere.
Dear Rosie, Your first priority should be visiting your GP in order to check that both you & the baby are well. I would suggest leaving your boyfriend alone for a few days so he can clear his head. He may just have been shocked to hear the news & needs time to think things through. Don’t forget that this will be a frightening situation for him too. You haven’t said if you want to stay in this relationship. Are you just frightened about becoming a parent & want him to acknowledge that you are carrying his baby or do you really want him in your life.
Once you decided what you want from this situation, you can move forward with plans for the future. Counselling can help with support while you work through your options.
I have sent you a more detailed response by email & hope that this situation has a happy ending.
Best of luck Rosie,
