A CRESSEX novelist called Sajjad Tameez has released a sci-fi/ fantasy book called Lehthra. The story follows aliens as they try to reclaim planet earth which they believe is rightfully theirs. However, another alien life force lands on earth to try and save humankind. The book is priced about £10.90 and can be bought through www.sajjadtameez.co.uk. He will be signing his book at Waterstones in High Wycombe on August 27.

YOUNG musicians can take part in the KZR Music Rock Sessions in Beaconsfield this summer. Over two days youngsters aged 11 to 17 are placed in small groups where they learn to arrange, plan, write and perform as a band. It is taught by Andy Fleet, who has been a professional musician and teacher for most of his life, including working as a session player for Universal Music. BUCKINGHAM'S History of Art and Heritage public lecture series returns this summer and explores the lives and works of famous artists. The next one in on August 16 at 6.30pm entitled 'Finding Fra Angelico in Oxford: Concluding the Story of a Medici Masterpiece from Florence?” And on September 6 at 6.30pm there will be another talk called “Breaking the Rules: Michelangelo as an Architect.” The lectures are free to attend and open to all at the University of Buckingham. Free parking is available off Hunter Street or opposite Chandos Road Building.

OXFORD Castle Food and Wine Festival will celebrate regional produce and culinary talent from September 17 to 18. Raymond Blanc OBE and Susy Atkins will officially open the festival at 10am on 17. There will be stalls, talks and kitchen demonstrations and seasonal food from the area. Entry is free from 10am until 5pm.
