1. THERE is lots to do this half term at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden. Kicking off tomorrow there is a session for seven years plus where children can make a spider with a balloon and water. Then on Sunday four years and above can make creepy cupcakes, with the help of Laura from Cafe Twit. On Monday there is a day for all ages to join in with a big draw. On the Tuesday six years and above can get messy with biscuits and sweeties to make their own creations. And on Wednesday, again for six years and above, children can decorate their own bowls. On Thursday, for six and up, children can use craft materials to make a witchy garden. There are charges for all the activities as well as museum entry. 2. WYCOMBE Environment Centre in West Wycombe Road is offering 19 sessions on mornings or afternoons during half term. You can make beautiful cards from summer-pressed flowers, or carve a wooden spoon from a branch of wood. Children will enjoy making toffee apple cakes, or Deadly Food for Halloween. 3. THE National Trust gardens and woodlands at Cliveden near Maidenhead are encouraging families to get out and about this October half term and join in their celebration of the Great British Walk. Explore Cliveden with one of the four self guided walking trails which can be downloaded from the website. Adventurous youngsters can also unlock the secrets of the woodlands on 28 and 30 October and 1 November thanks to a special family walk which includes bug hunting, leaf catching and den building. On October 30 join in the Halloween themed Wild Wednesday. Families can follow a special trail to find their way to the centre of Cliveden’s giant maze. 4. CREATE your own spooky disguise, make slime and hear stories of mystery and suspense at Wycombe Museum next Tuesday and Thursday. The sessions are at 10.30 and 11.30am, 1.30, 2.30 and 3.30pm and are a first come first serve basis. All drop-ins are £2.50 per child. Suitable for four to 12-years-old. 5. HUGHENDEN Manor is also holding a week of Halloween fun for half term. Visitors can join in with pumpkin carving or go on a spooky trail.
