Family History Talk: The English Heritage Archive
Mike Evans will outline and illustrate the holdings of this photographic archive. The Waddesdon Estate Country Fair

Gardens

Open garden
Open garden to raise funds to help Age UK Buckinghamshire, which supports older and vulnerable people across the county. The Carringtons took over the house on the family estate in the 1940s and set about restoring it, as well as redesigning the gardens with the help of landscape architect Robert Adams. Now encompassing around ten acres, they stretch from a beautiful walled garden with an herbaceous border and gazebo, through to a croquet lawn surrounded by mixed borders, a water garden and parterre, a sculpture garden and the new Snail Garden, designed in memory of Lady Carrington. Lavender beds, borders of delphiniums and paeonies, viburnums, santolina and festuca glauca are just some of the plants which will be showing off their summer colours and foliage. Afternoon teas will be available, plus a tombola with fine food and wine prizes to be won. £5 payable on the gate (under 12s free)

The first of three Viennese Celebrations 
Over the summer, Norden Farm will be holding three special concerts celebrating the works of four great Viennese composers. The first is with pianist Simon Watterton. The programme for the concert celebrates four of the most popular composers - Brahms, Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven - with some of their recognised and well-loved pieces. A Midsummer Night's Dream

Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge

Late Summer Show
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People will be holding its annual Late Summer Show where there will be an array of activities on offer for all the family; with a kids fun zone, music from live bands, a tug of war competition, classic car show, as well as a BBQ and summer time refreshments. West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival
As 2014 sees the centenary of the First World War, organiser Lawrence Power was keen to explore some key works written between 1914 and 1918 by composers such as Ravel, Vaughan-Williams and Debussy. As well as these works there will also be some cornerstones of the chamber music literature including Brahms Piano Quartet Op. 60, Chausson Concerto for Violin, Piano and Quartet, Schubert Fantasy for 4 Hands and Schoenberg's extraordinary string sextet Verklarte Nacht. Kop Hill Climb 
Now in its sixth year after it was revived, the Kop Hill Climb is back. Once again the Chilterns will host its charity driven extravaganza of motoring history. Last year it broke all records with their largest yet charitable contribution. More than 15,000 spectators saw 300 historic cars and bikes, leavened by some exotics, tackling the hill.
