DOREEN Lawrence, Jean Trumpington and Princess Michael of Kent join David Nicholls, Dawn O’Porter and Geoffrey Boycott in a line-up for 150 events at this year's Henley Literary Festival.

It runs from September 29 to October 5, with everyone from comedians and cooks to sport stars and even royalty.

Tickets are now on sale for the festival, sponsored by Laithwaite’s Wine, which takes place at intimate venues across the riverside town.

The line-up for the eighth year includes Princess Michael of Kent, Nicholas Parsons, Emma Bridgewater, Geoffrey Boycott and Dawn O’Porter.

Baronesses Doreen Lawrence and Jean Trumpington will both make rare appearances looking back on their lives and careers.

One Day author David Nicholls comes to Henley in the week that his first novel in five years, Us, is published.

Bestselling novelists including Jojo Moyes, Tony Parsons, Adele Parks and Esther Freud appear alongside debut authors Bryony Gordon, Rosa Rankin Gee, Abbie Ross and Everyday Sexism’s Laura Bates.

Politicians past and present include Paddy Ashdown, Jerry Hayes, Liam Fox and Chris Bryant. Boycott is joined on the bill by fellow sport icons Gareth Thomas, Alison Mowbray and Roger Bannister.

Humour will come from Craig Brown, Francesca Martinez, Katy Wix and David Quantick while on food and drink there is Oz Clarke, Thane Prince, John Whaite and the Hemsley sisters.

From TV and radio, Kirsty Wark, Mark Kermode, Bonnie Greer and Mike Read will all be taking part at the festival. Actors Timothy Spall, Maureen Lipman, Harriet Walter and George Layton make their Henley debuts, while Festival regular Eleanor Bron is back with a new play.

Events taking place on a boat cruising down the Thames look at First World War poetry, rowing, travel and the Beatles. Returning regular strands include Crime and Wine and a full weekend of children’s events.
