BUCKS sculptors Andrew Sinclair and Diane Coates are celebrating the runaway success of a six-month extravaganza of art in the historic gardens of Hatfield House.

The pair, who run a studio and school in Wendover, curated The Great British Sculpture Show at the country house in Hertfordshire.

More than 20 of the UK's finest sculptors have exhibited their work at the show, helping to increase year on year attendances by up to 20 per cent at times.

"It's been a brilliant success," said Diane. "We really didn't know what to expect because we had never previously curated such a show but it's been enormously well received by the public."

The show began in April and is due to end on September 30. Works range from giant bronze animals, such as a rhino, a peregrine falcon and a massive dinosaur, to dancing skeletons and classical portraits.

All of these are on sale to the public, with some of the work already snapped up by eager art buyers.

"We are planning to repeat this show in 2016, but if you don't want to wait another two years to see this array of art, then you should nip down to Hatfield before September 30," said Diane, Diane and Andrew were praised last month by their constituency MP David Lidington, who took time out of his hectic schedule to visit their studio where he viewed some of Andrew's finest creations.

Mr Lidington said: "I think first of all, this is an inspiring business and artistic venture, and I hope many more people will discover Andrew’s craftsmanship by perhaps visiting the Hatfield House exhibition."
