MasterChef’s John Torode will be joined by Great British Bake off winner Frances Quinn and celebrity nutritionist Madeline Shaw at the UK’s first food literary festival.

Henley on Food will début in Oxfordshire at the end of April, offering talks, interactive demonstrations, sampling, wine tasting, pop-up Supper Clubs and children’s’ activities.

Festival founder, Kate Lynas, says: "The concept behind Henley on Food was devised to feed the growing demand for intelligent and engaging culinary experiences.

“Having seen the popularity of food authors surge over recent years – both at the Henley Literary Festival and on the national bestseller lists – we knew this was the right time to bring together brilliant, inspiring and genuinely interesting people for a weekend celebration of food and drink.”

Chef, restaurateur and host of BBC’s MasterChef, John Torode, will be there with his most recent release: ‘My Kind of Food: Recipes I love to cook at home’.

Madeline Shaw is a health coach and food blogger who works with private clients, including model and TV star Millie Mackintosh and Australian rugby union player Rocky Elsom.

She recently released her first book ‘Get the Glow’ and her second, ‘READY STEADY GLOW’, is set to be released days before the festival. Both contain wheat- and sugar-free recipes.

Frances Quinn, winner of the 2013 Great British Bake Off, will be there with her debut cook book ‘Quinntessential Baking’ and a much more liberal approach to sugar.

Co-founder Harriet Reed says: “There should be something for everyone, from cake baking to healthy and quite a lot of food from across the globe. It is also for people really into the idea of doing it but who don’t know how.”

Harriet, who has worked on the annual Henley Literary Festival since it was founded, adds: “With the Henley Literary Festival celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016, what better timing for its new little sister to arrive?”

More than 7,000 tickets will go on sale on March, 7. Both day and weekend tickets will be available. A percentage of the profits will be going to charity, the amount and recipient is yet to be decided.

The full line-up will be announced in the next few weeks, keep an eye on our website for updates: bucksfreepress.co.uk.
