THE Clandestine Cake Club has arrived in Buckinghamshire. The club was founded in 2010 by Lynn Hill as a way to get more people together over tea and cake. Members do the baking and then invite a guest. And there will now be regular meets every six to eight weeks in Bucks. The first meeting is tomorrow (April 14) from 2-4pm in Aylesbury. The exact location will be revealed today. The theme this month is Cakes of Childhood. ANTHONY Whitworth-Jones will be retiring as general director from Garsington Opera on October 31. He was appointed in 2005 after the sudden death of the founder of Garsington Opera, Leonard Ingrams, and leaves the company in a strong position after having taken up its new home on the Wormsley Estate. THE Probus Club of Old Beaconsfield is looking for new members. It is a retired, professional businessmen's club which currently has 100 members, aged between 65 and 85. They meet every two weeks for a coffee, chat and a presentation at the Fitzwilliam Centre in Beaconsfield. Members enjoy trips to the theatre, lunch etc. Annual fee is £33.
