A YOUNG rap artist from Chalfont St Peter is hoping his hard work will pay off with a career in the music business.

Owen Pickston, 14, released his first album in February called Pre-Historic Future- packed with 15 songs.

He said: "It's mainly rap. I do have a dance track on there, which I did with a singer.

"Me and my brother both started producing at the same time."

He has also uploaded his work onto You Tube and is hoping to spread his name further afield.

Owen started producing a year ago. He said: "I get home from school and do it on my Mac and on my equipment.

"My brother started DJ-ing and kind of got me into it."

He started playing the flute at the age of eight, before starting to play the guitar at ten.

After years of watching his older brother, DJ Hunger, DJ-ing up and down the country he started to take interest and wanted to learn. He was then put in contact with the artist Infinite, which is when he realised he had vocal ability too.

His stage name is Wisp and he has performed at BBC festivals and gigs all around London.

He is going to do more live shows.

Owen said: "I am just hoping as long as I work hard and stuff I will be able to progress through the scene."
