Members of Marlow’s Rotary took to the High Street with their collection buckets on April Fool’s Day raising more than £1,000 towards their annual young carer’s fun day.

Around 25 Rotarians came together on sunny streets of Marlow on Friday to raise money towards the fayre which is organised by The Rotary Club of Marlow and the Rotary Club of Marlow Thames.

The fun day will take place on Saturday, August 6 at Holy Trinity School on Wethered Road from 12 to 5pm.

Last year around 100 people attended the popular event and Rotarians are hoping to welcome around 200 visitors this summer.

A range of activities, games and entertainments will take place on the school’s playing fields including afternoon tea.

The Rotary Club has held a number of successful street collections over the past year and are quick to praise the generosity of Marlovians in helping them raise thousands for good causes.

Rotarian, Lance Slater, said: “The young carers across the district deserve a well-earned day out.

“We would like to thank the good people of Marlow for their generous support as always when we carry out events like this.

“And of course it is a good show of support for work of the unsung carers."
