Marlow Jazz Club have another of their occasional lunchtime events on Sunday, April 24 at 12.15pm at the Royal British Legion Hall. Popular trombonist Clive Burton brings his Dixieland All-Stars Band for a debut Marlow performance, and with music in the traditional styling. Top trumpet player Stuart Henderson is in the line-up. Admission is £5, and snacks are available at the bar.

Marlow RoundTable, Ladies Circle and Marlow FM will host the Marlow May Fayre at Higginson Park to raise money for local charities. Starting at 10am on Saturday May 7, visitors can enjoy a day of fun activities including a duck race, BBQ and beer tent, dance performances and circus skills.

The town council is on the hunt for sporting and community stars who deserve recognition for their dedication. Nominees for the Sports Personality Award can be anyone of any age who is involved in sports or sport coaching. The only requirement is that nominees must live in the Marlow within the area covered by the town council.

The Community Award is for those who tirelessly give their time to the community to enhance the quality of residents’ lives. It is open to anyone who has served the community of Marlow, including those who do not live within the town’s boundaries. Winners will be presented with their awards at the Town Mayor's Regatta reception in June.

Foodies can tickle their tastebuds and meet a celebrity chef while helping to raise money for charity at an exclusive dinner on Thursday May 19. The dinner, at Sindhu restaurant at the Macdonald Compleat Angler hotel, will give guests the opportunity to meet chef Atul Kochhar, the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin star. The Marlow Town Council annual meeting and annual parish meeting will be held on Tuesday May 10 at Higginson Room Court Garden House at 7:15pm. All residents are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the meeting when there will also be an opportunity to meet Marlow town councillors.

The Marlow Wine Society meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Pugin Rooms, St Peter Street, where a tutored tasting of around eight fine wines on a particular theme is given by an invited speaker. Wine lovers can join the society to take part in the tastings by calling Roy Cadman on 01628 473 863. The next event will take place on Wednesday April 27 at 8pm.

Marlow Rowing Club will be hosting its Spring Regatta over the May bank holiday weekend, running over approximately 1,000 metres from Bisham Abbey to Higginson Park on May 2. There will be a charge of £5 per car for competitors and spectators. For more information, email sallyreay1@gmail.com.
