The historic and supposedly haunted Crooked Billet but in Little Marlow prides itself in real ales accompanied with quirky tales.

Situation halfway along Sheepridge Lane the 16th century pub originally started out as two cottages but was transformed in to a cider house in 1850.

Mystery writer Edgar Wallace was said to use the pub and was buried nearby following his death.

And staff may say the watering hole is haunted by a highwayman who terrorised the area and was subsequently hanged on a nearby Oaktree.

Aside from poltergeists, the pub boasts a prize winning garden for summer drinking or fires are lit over the winter for a warmer atmosphere.

It also has an extensive food menu from Billet style sandwiches homemade soups as well as pub classics.

The Crooked Billet is opening from 11 am to 3 pm and 5pm to 11pm for drinks seven days a week and food is served from 12 to 2pm.
