Grass cutting at a popular Marlow beauty spot will return to normal this week following a raft of negative feedback about a new maintenance system at the park.

After taking on the challenge of grass cutting from Wycombe District Council earlier this year, MTC decided to trial a new system at Seymour Park Recreation Ground with Transition Town Marlow which allowed the grass and wild flowers to grow while still maintaining access and a footpath for public use.

However, following complaints from dog walkers and other park users Marlow Town Council has assured residents all grass at the green space will be cut on Thursday, June 9.

A statement on the Town Council’s website said: “We have been trialling a scheme of grass cutting in Seymour Park, proposed by Transition Town Marlow; allowing grass and wild flowers to grow whilst still maintaining access and a footpath for visitors.

“Over the past week we have received a wealth of feedback, identifying of a number of concerns for the park's users and their children / pets.

The council has decided that the negatives far out-weigh the positives of the scheme. As a result, our contractor has been instructed to return to cutting the entire field.”

Council staff have urged residents to report any issues they have with grass cutting to http://www.marlow-tc.gov.uk/Feedback-Form.aspx
