A much-loved village pub could be turned into a high-end gastropub owned by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc if a new planning application is given the green light.
The King's Head in Little Marlow could become part of The White Brasserie Company after plans were submitted to Wycombe District Council by the celebrity chef's chain.
If they are given the go-ahead, the Grade II listed pub, in Church Road, will be extended after plans complained that the kitchen is "too small and cannot cope with the demands made upon it."
In a planning statement, developers say wheelchair access to the pub needs to be improved, with more toilets added.
They said: "The dining area is very small which results in what should be the pub drinking area being set out as dining space.
"The potential of the function room (pavilion building) is not realised as it is disconnected from the pub."
The kitchen would be relocated to the pavilion to provide "quality food" while more space for dining will be added with the main bar going back to pub drinking space.
The plans were made public yesterday and Wycombe District Council has until May 2 to make a decision.
