A popular coffee shop in Marlow has closed its doors.
Last year the Marlow Free Press reported that estate agents were marketing a café unit in Higginson Park – which was the Costa Coffee site.
A sign has now been seen at the coffee shop saying it has closed down after coming to the end of its lease.
The café opened in April 2012 surrounded by controversy, with objectors claiming the picturesque park views were being “ruined” by the advertising signs and branding erected around the Wycombe District Council-owned site.
It was leased by Paul Messenger, who ran 20 Costa stores under his franchise Coffee Snobs, including the one in West Street.
Costa Coffee's head office has been contacted for comment.
