SENSATIONAL Charlotte New is still begging friends to 'hit me one more time' after five exciting weeks which saw her sing her way on to prime-time TV, mingle with the stars at a glitzy film premier and meet the queen of pop herself Britney Spears.
And despite a recent media backlash to the contrary, 16-year-old Charlotte, of St George's Close, High Wycombe, had nothing but the best to say about the American pop icon.
The Beaconsfield High School performing arts and English student was the envy of millions after she beat off stiff competition from more than 6,000 hopefuls for a place in the karaoke final on BBC1's The Saturday Show.
She said: "I couldn't believe I actually got on my parents sent in a tape. It was incredible and was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. Britney was just like I imagined her really nice. To think this is what I was dreaming about ever since I was a kid."
Saturday's screening attracted millions of viewers who tuned in and voted for the talented singer after her performance of Britney's Hit Me Baby One More Time in front of the American singer.
Last Monday's recording was followed by an afternoon of VIP treatment by celebrity stylists in preparation for the star-studded premiere of Britney's new movie Crossroads that night.
Boyband Blue, the Sugarbabes, SClub7's Tina and Big Brother winner Brian were just a few of those she rubbed shoulders with.
She said: "It was just brilliant we were put up in a great hotel on Sunday and Monday night.
"I've had younger Year Seven's come up to me in the corridor telling me they saw me on the telly which is nice but a bit weird."
Charlotte took part in last year's Wycombe Area Youth Council's T21 concert and hopes to build a career out of music. But she is already aware of the possible downfalls, after seeing Britney booed by fans who felt snubbed at her film premiere.
She added: "I felt really sorry for Britney. There are so many there who wanted to see her and it's difficult to have to say no."
