A FIRE broke out at a warehouse in High Wycombe this evening.

The blaze, in Copyground Lane, began at around 5pm.

It is thought that a car in the building caught fire, and in turn set off the roof of the building.

Rob Smith, 21, of Lindsay Avenue was having a barbecue at his house, which backs onto the site of the fire, when the blaze started.

He said: "We were just outside in the garden having a barbeque and we saw smoke from round the back. We looked and the whole roof of the building was on fire.

"It was really black smoke, and it really smelt like petrol. We heard a few loud bangs, like things exploding. The fire brigade were there in under five minutes.

"The funny thing was that our barbecue wasn't even working."

Police cordoned off a section of the road as firefighters dealt with the blaze.
