MP Dominic Grieve piled into an army jeep as war veterans launched the Poppy Appeal in Gerrards Cross.
Villager John Wright brings his genuine World War Two jeep into the centre of the village for several days every year to help boost donations.
Mr Grieve, MP for the village and the government’s Attorney General, joined this year's launch outside Tesco on Saturday.
He said afterwards: "The Poppy Appeal is fully supported and I am grateful to Mr John Wright, a long-standing volunteer, and the Gerrards Cross Royal British Legion, who have given so much of their time and trouble in raising money for this very important charity."
