A FLOOD alert remains in place for the River Thames from Hurley to Bourne End today.

Although water levels are falling steadily they are still high, the Environment Agency said.

The river water remains over the banks in places, especially in the Marlow area, with the warning also affecting Cookham and Bisham.

EA officials said its forecasters predict a mostly dry next few days with the possibility of light scattered showers.

The EA issued the alert on January 27.
