Petrol station given permission to turn popular repair garage into jet wash Petrol station given permission to turn popular repair garage into jet wash

AN application to turn a popular repair garage into a jet wash has been permitted.

Manor Garage in Walters Ash has fought a long fight to stop their landlords, Murco Petroleum Ltd gaining planning permission.

The Murco petrol station is alongside the repair garage.

But at the end of last month it was given planning permission by Wycombe District Council.

It was a delegated decision in consultation with the chairman.

Ken Chalmers, who owns Manor Garage rents the property off Murco and has been unable to renew his lease. He said he is going to wait to see what Murco tell him.

Sad that a local business has to close or find new premises but it probably will mean less cars parked along the road outside Murco and so make a small contribution to the parking problems in the vicinity.

Its a joke they work very hard in that Garage, and people could not wish to have their Cars repaired by a more friendly bunch, its so sad to see the big BUSINESS win yet again. And what the hell do you need a JET WASH for, THESE a CARWASH.

Isn't the parking mainly for the Co-Op opposite?

The Manor garage are inclined to park their overflow out there. There is rarely much outside Murco when Manor Garage are operating. The co-op brigade usually park right along outside the RAF offices and the bungalow next to the Co-op, the shops opposite get stroppy if they use their spaces!

We at Shear Madness don't get 'stroppy' about parking however the land opposite is private land, A decision on the future of Manor Garage should be know this coming Monday, We have set up a Save Manor Garage FaceBook page, This will be updated as soon as we know,

Looking at some of the cars around the area.. i would have thought most of their owners would like to take pride by cleaning it themselves! And what would their kids have to do to earn some honest pocket money!? The parking situation around those 6 outlets is pathetic anyway! why would another business want to encourage more traffic to an already busy spot for no real use of a jet wash!

There are plenty of hand car washes in the area for those who cannot do the job themselves and I personally, wouldn't want to use the mechanical version, but that's personal choice.Making my way down the High Street I was shocked to see an elderly lady standing beside one of the market stalls feeding the pigeons with some form of bird seed.

Dear Oh dear drivers, get a bucket and sponge and clean the car yourself, a good leather down and it will look as good as new. No more broken wing mirrors or windscreen wiper blades, or in some case, the number plates ripped off!..the benefits are fresh air & excersise.

One must not forget that an Auto car wash does not dry off your vehicle afterwards, leaving streaks and dried dirt all over the body work, including the windscreen, What's the 1st thing we all have to do when exiting a car wash...
Turn on the wipers and screen washer.

Not quite sure where the bit about the lady in the High Street came from! Haven't been anywhere near the High Street in years! Please forgive folks!
It would take a great deal more than this to shock me! A piece from Ivor's blog transposed.

It's obviously sad if someone has built up a business and then gets evicted from their premises - but ultimately both sides knew what they were signing up to when they agreed the lease. If you owned a piece of land that you rented out, and you wanted it back for whatever reason, you would expect to be able to get it back after the appropriate notice per the lease agreement.
