Woman has head shaved for Mongolian charity
9:54am Thursday 28th February 2013 in News By Rebecca Cain
WITH the weather not warming up Kate Yates has been resorting to wearing a hat after she dramatically had her hair shaved off on Saturday.
The 32-year-old from Saunderton Lea had her head shaved at Rebecca Hill in Princes Risborough to raise money for a charity in Mongolia called Go Help.
Meanwhile her 37-year-old husband, Steve, had his legs waxed which took more than an hour.
They have so far raised more than £1,700 and will hand over the money in person as they are driving to Mongolia from the UK in a truck, covering 10,000 miles.
Kate, a strategic planner for London Underground, said: "It was a very surreal day. It was good fun though.
"I am wearing a hat outside but I am not wearing one at work and I am getting a lot of reaction at work.
"The general comment I seem to have got is I have a good head shape for it."
The couple will pay for all the travel costs and will donate the truck to the charity.

Go Help is a UK registered charity that is committed to working with local communities in Central Asia to improve their access to education and healthcare services. Find out more at http://gohelp.org.uk/
