THE final rubber stamping was given last night to a council tax freeze for Wycombe residents.
At a full Wycombe District Council meeting, members voted through the budget for 2013/14 – which includes capping the £126.99 per year charge for Band D households.
Finance chief Cllr Roger Wilson, Conservative, told the meeting the decision was made against the backdrop of people struggling in the harsh economic climate.
The Cabinet Member said: “"As a result, and in spite of these problems, it is our resolve to keep the council tax increase for the district at zero for this coming year.
“We must remember that it is your money that we are spending, to provide services for you, and we will continue to squeeze every pound until the last drop has been wrung out.
"We know that the future is very uncertain and that the continuing economic problems the country faces are having a very real and profound impact on the lives of our residents.”
