FLACKWELL Heath Residents’ Association hope the whole village will come together for a summer feast of food and fun at the Flackwell Heath Village Picnic next month.

Following on from a hugely successful weekend of Diamond Jubilee celebrations last summer, the picnic aims to boost community spirit with a range of events planned throughout the day on June 2.

The event on Straight Bit Recreation Ground coincides with the nationwide Big Lunch project, a lottery funded scheme to bring villages, streets and communities together for fun and friendship.

All residents need to do is bring a picnic, seating and a blanket, and join in the fun.

There will be races for children and adults, a team of local Morris dancers and a free bouncy assault course (for under 14s).

Lunch-goers are also encouraged to bring their own games such as cricket, rounders and frisbee to play on the day.
