A SPEED camera in West Wycombe Road has been covered over for county council officials to review how effective it is.

The camera on the way into High Wycombe from West Wycombe has an orange bag placed over it.

Dan Elworthy, spokesman for Transport for Buckinghamshire, said: "As part of the redesign on the West Wycombe Road / Chapel Lane junction, we are taking the opportunity to review the effectiveness of this safety camera.

"In order to do this we have covered the camera for a short period of time to gather traffic data. Temporary traffic monitoring tubes will be installed on the road next week to gather this information and we envisage the camera to be covered for a further two weeks."

The Chapel Lane/ A40 junction will be widened and realigned, and the A40/ Plomer Hill junction will be refurbished with the introduction of an A40 westbound pre-signal.
