PETS put on their glad rags last week to celebrate the tenth anniversary of a Bourne End pub’s fundraising day to help an African orphanage.
A pet show took centre stage at The Bounty’s annual event, with over 70 animals in the running for prizes including waggiest tail and the hotly-contested hunk of the day.
And a comedy and music evening helped smash the fundraising target, with over £1700 raised for Mama Amelia’s Orphanage in South Africa.
Twice a year, owners Dave and Sue Wright fly make the trip to help Mama Amelia, with the couple and pub regulars giving a helping hand with building projects.
And this week Dave and Sue flew out to present the money generously donated by the large crowd at the pub in Cockmarsh.
