A SERVICE offering transport to those who can not get to hospital and back home on their own has become part of a charity which helps the elderly.
A team of volunteer car drivers in Marlow have been operating for many years and had been based at the Marlow Red Cross Centre until it closed two years ago. It moved to Marlow Age Concern's headquarters in Glade Road in order to continue and now the transport team is being rolled into the charity's services, with all staff becoming members.
It will now be known as Marlow Age Concern Hospital Transport Service.
Pateints needing help to get to medical appointments can call the team for a lift, charged at a rate of 65p per mile.
Call 01628 476139. The booking office is open Monday to Friday from 10 to 11 am. Outside these times a recorded message can be left and responded to on the next weekday.
