A BEACONSFIELD-based children’s charity is calling for help to secure a community funding pot on offer from a high street bank.

Greenfingers, which creating gardens in children’s hospices across the UK, has been shortlisted for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2013 for South Bucks.

And the charity is looking for votes to clinch the £3000 so it can create a ‘grow-your-own’ space at a hospice in Essex for families to learn about producing fruit and veg.

Deborah Skillicorn, charity director, said: “If Greenfingers are awarded this money from Lloyds it will make a very real and vital difference to the lives of children with life-limiting conditions.

“The chance to be outside, engaging with nature and plants, can provide a welcome salve to the stress of everyday life for these children and their families.

“Your vote can help us improve the lives of children who really need our help.”

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund giving grants to over 1,300 local good causes in villages, towns and cities across England and Wales.

There are four good causes in each community and each will receive an award, with two getting £3,000 each and the others £300.
