GOLD jewellery was stolen from a dog walker who was hit in the head by balaclava-clad men wielding a wooden post in Wycombe woodland.

The man was walking his dog in Five Acre Wood off Booker Hill Road at 3.30pm yesterday when he was approached by a man with the post.

Another man pushed him from behind and the dog-walker was then hit over the head, police said.

The attackers demanded the man hand over his jewellery and, when he refused, they grabbed the gold chain from around his neck and a gold sovereign ring from his finger before running away.

Police said both men are black and were wearing balaclavas.

The first man is described as about 5ft 9ins tall, average build and was wearing a black jacket and dark coloured trousers.

The second man is about 6ft tall, average build and he was wearing a dark coat and trousers.
