PRINCE Charming and Dandini were on hand to switch on the Christmas lights in Princes Risborough last Friday.
The Wycombe Swan panto stars Sean Needham, who will play the Prince, and Duncan Leighton as Dandini, lit up the pretty market town with a press of the button.
Before this there was a performance of Risborough Youth Theatre who showed a snippet of its pantomime, Dick Whittington, which is being shown from December 13 to 15 at the town's secondary school.
Father Christmas also made his annual appearance and there were carols from Churches Together and the four junior schools in the area.
Organiser Richard Stevenson said: "There was a good turn out. At least 1,000 people.
"Stall holders seemed to do well and we raised quite a bit of money for the day centre."
The total is yet to be announced but it is thought £500 has been raised for the day care centre in Clifford Road.
