EMERGENCY supplies have been provided by a group of pupils, helped along by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough.
The town's club sponsors the Interact Club at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe.
The RGS club held a non uniform day before Christmas and asked for donations from pupils who chose to wear casual clothes for the day.
A total of £1,000 was raised for the ShelterBox appeal. This sum will be topped up by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough, allowing two boxes to be purchased in the school’s name.
The pupils will then be able to track these boxes and see to which disaster they are allocated and where they finally end up.
ShelterBox provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by catastrophes, at the time when they need it the most.
Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, groundsheets, water storage and filtration equipment, cooking utensils, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.
On January 16, following the Club’s first meeting in the new term after Christmas, the RGS Interact president, Brad Reeson, handed over a cheque for £1,000 to John Hughes, the President of the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough to be passed on to the ShelterBox appeal.
