A FAMILY who put on a bill-busting Christmas lights show to raise money for charity have thanked residents for helping them raise nearly £3000.
The Shepherds, who live in Marlow Bottom, have become famous for their dazzling displays which grow in size and scope each year.
Through donations and GiftAid, the family has brought in £2970.75 for BrainTrust, which funds research into brain tumours and supports families affected.
Now in its 13th year, the tradition gets bigger each time, with December’s showing featuring programmed displays set to music each evening.
Jancis Shepherd said: “We have had many visitors to see the lights, Christmas eve being particularly busy and many visitors telling us that viewing the lights and listening to the music on Christmas eve has become a family tradition.
“Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit and for the lovely letters and cards showing appreciation for the lights, they have been a delight to read.
“This is the most we have ever raised in one year- a massive thank you to everyone who has visited, donated and told their friends and colleagues about the lights.”
