A ROCK band has dusted off the cobwebs and is back on the music scene in High Wycombe, after lying dormant for a number of years.

The Precious Few first started gigging in the late 80s, but as the band started to have families in the early 90s the music fell by the wayside.

They are now back gigging with a new line up ranging with members ranging from the age of 18 to mid 50s.

They were on BBC introducing in Beds, Herts and Bucks a few weeks ago and played at the Arts4Every1 Jam on Sunday evening.

Michael Connelly, who is on guitar and vocals, joined the band when he moved over to Bucks from South Africa with his wife.

He said: "I went onto a website called joinmyband.com and I got in touch with them. I have been with them for about four years.

"1988 was when Roger Green and Graham Cook and the rest of the guys formed the band. "I was still in South Africa then."

Roger, from Beaconsfield, is on bass, while Graham Cook from Chalfont St Peter is on the drums.

The other band members include Ryan Atkins, who is lead guitarist, Andy Slade on piano and Lucy Holzlova, who is the singer. They rehearse weekly in a barn in the countryside.

Michael, 31, who works at Buckinghamshire Golf Course as his day job and has a young son called Daniel. said their music is rock with an 80s influence. They are releasing a single in June and are looking to sign a record deal.

Michael said: "Hopefully it is all going to really kick off this year. We just need to keep doing what we can to get our name out there."
