Cadmore End travellers' site refused

Bucks Free Press: Planning permission for travellers' site refused Planning permission for travellers' site refused

PLANS for a travellers' site has been refused by Wycombe District Council.

The application for a gypsy caravan site for nine pitches- five transit and four permanent- has been refused due to it harm to the rural amenity of the area and the Green Belt.

David Curtis, who currently lives at a travellers' site at Five Oaks Farm in Studley Green wants to build the site, which would include a shower block and stables at High Barns in Marlow Road, Cadmore End.

The CELEB action committee, which consists of residents from the area, opposed the application and more than 100 people attended an extraordinary Lane End Parish Council meeting in January.

The decision notice from WDC said the "urbanising impact" on the landscape would "negatively impact on the special character and intrinsic landscape qualities of the Chilterns AONB and the rural amenity of the area generally."

It also said it would be an inappropriate development of the Green Belt and the special circumstances are not considered to outweigh the harm.

The notice also pointed out that the noise from the M40 would not provide a satisfactory internal or external living environment for future occupiers of the development and said a management plan needs to be set out which shows how a facility for waste will be in place.

The applicants can appeal if they wish to.

These land grab applications must be thrown out in the first instance without any consideration. Travellers cause unrepairable damage to anywhere they occupy, blight the lives of other neighbours and disregard anyone else other than themselves.
They have no respect or intentions to protect the environment and the community they happen to encircle. They are responsible for countless crimes, harassment and generally have an incredibly negative impact on the standards of livings of the community they invade. They must not be allowed to take over any land on the basis they will show no ownership and will cost the taxpayers unnecessarily because no injections in the economy have ever been recorded from the traveller community and land will be simply lost where it could be used for better purposes. They have never contributed towards the economy and are only insistent upon take, take, take .

Beware this will go to appeal and drag on for sometime yet.
Just look at what is happening around the south of Bucks.
Many 'travellers' complain that they are not understood and make good neighbours. But just look at a site once they have been booted off and how much it costs to put the sites back to decent areas.
