IT was a sparkly affair as the Chiltern Dial-A-Ride held its inaugural May Ball on Saturday.
The event - which was organised in the space of four months - had a black and white and sparkles theme and raised more than £4,000 for the charity.
It was held at Amersham and Chiltern Rugby Club and featured a fundraising auction which included a Turkish villa holiday among the prizes.
Dial-A-Ride chairman David Ouvry said: "Everybody who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was an entertaining evening.
"We only started the idea in late January, so in record time we've put on our first May Ball. It was a success and we are encouraged to make this an annual event."
Mr Ouvry thanked colleagues Tony Tagent and Jo Francis-Gow, former Amersham Mayor Mimi Harker and her husband Robin for their help in organising the ball. The Chiltern Dial-A-Ride provides a volunteer led door-to-door transport service for Chiltern residents with mobility difficulties.
