THE Thomas Ball Children's cancer fund is hoping to raise money by holding a sponsored midnight "Dream" walk.

The charity aims to reduce sickness and distress among children suffering from cancer and members of their families.

The charity has gained the support of, High Wycombe based bed retailer, Dreams.

Every five pound donation will be eligible to win the bed in a raffle held after the midnight "Dream" walk on Friday, June 27.

Elaine Ball, chairman for the Prestwood based charity, said: "We are so grateful to have the support of Dreams, raffling the bedstead will raise extra funds.

"The quirky twist at the end of our midnight "Dream" walk will hopefully raise more awareness of our cause and what we are doing to help these sick children who are suffering from cancer by making dreams come true with much needed holidays."

Other local businesses have pledged their support to help the charity raise money.

TGI Friday's in High Wycombe have agreed to provide the well earned bacon rolls for the walkers.

Marks and Spencer in Amersham are also providing staff to help out at the event after The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer fund was announced as their charity of the year.

The charity was founded by Thomas Ball, who suffered from neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. He died in 2003, aged 14.

To register for the midnight "Dream" walk, volunteers should contact the charity on 01494 890157 or email tomballcharity@aol.com.

Alternatively, donations can be sent to: The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund, 18, Sixty Acres Road, Prestwood, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, HP16 0PD.
