Harrison Ford hospitalised after accident at Pinewood Studios filming Star Wars

Bucks Free Press: Harrison Ford Harrison Ford

HOLLYWOOD superstar Harrison Ford reportedly broke his ankle in an on-set accident while filming the new Star Wars film in south Bucks.

The veteran actor had to be airlifted to hospital following the accident yesterday at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath.

A health and safety investigation could be launched off the back of the incident, which saw Ford - who is once again taking on the role of Han Solo in the latest movie - hurt by a garage door.

Police and an air ambulance were called to the studios, with Ford being taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.

Thames Valley Police confirmed in a statement today: "TVP was called just after 5pm to an incident at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath after receiving reports that a 71-year-old man had been injured. The incident attended by officers is believed to be caused by a garage door.

"A 71-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening. The Health and Safety executive were notified."

I wonder how many other people get an air ambulance for just a broken ankle?
Can't figure out why he didn't go to the closest hospital (Wexham Park) either?
As wigster says... "Money talks"
