POLICE have arrested a man from Stoke Poges on suspicion of terrorism offences with links to Syria.

The 27-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, July 1, in connection with offences under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act; preparation of terrorism acts.

He remains on bail until August 20.

Two other men from Slough, both aged 26, have also been arrested.

One of the men was arrested under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act and has been bailed until August 19.

The other man was arrested in connection with offences under Section 17 of the Terrorism Act; financing terrorist acts. He was bailed until August 21.

Slough Deputy LPA Commander Chief Inspector Gavin Wong said: “These arrests demonstrate that positive action is being taken to safeguard members of the community from the dangers of travelling to Syria.

“The police will continue to work with our partners and community in the interests of public safety and I would ask that we all continue to discourage anyone from attempting to travel to Syria or other areas of conflict.

“While the motive may be honourable, the reality is that these areas are hugely dangerous, and it can be an opportunity to radicalise vulnerable people.”

In the interest of public safety we will arrest these suspects and then bail them, giving them every chance to do a bunk!

Honsetly why don't you just arrest them and give 'em a bit of a tickle on the tummy and make them promise to behave.
