DRAGON’S Den star Peter Jones was the guest of honour at a Beaconsfield school’s charity fundraiser last week.

The TV star and businessman supported The Beaconsfield High School as students voted to do something entrepreneurial to raise money.

As well as holding other fundraising activities they also held their own Dragon’s Den style event.

There were two winners in the competition with the girls group winning Thorpe Park tickets for them and their entire class.

To allow enough tickets for the other competitors Peter Jones volunteered to top up the extra 30 tickets required from his own pocket.

The two groups pitched their own ideas to the Dragon’s (not including Peter Jones), with one group designing a fairground game app and another group designing a new drinks brand.

Annette France, the school's Headteacher said: "Our ethos here at Beaconsfield High School is to try to ensure all students fulfil their potential in a constantly changing and complex world.

“When they leave us and move into the wider world they need to be financially aware young people who are able to manage their finances successfully.”

Family banking group ‘goHenry’ have offered to match every pound raised on the day, up to £10,000 although at the time of printing the final total had not yet been confirmed.
