THE teenage boy whose body was recovered from the River Thames in Marlow last night has been named locally as Kyrece Francis.

Police confirmed its Specialist Search and Rescue Team discovered the body of a 13-year-old boy in the river near Gossmore Lane at 8pm on Tuesday.

Officers had been called to reports of a person struggling in the water at 4.30pm – sparking a desperate search for the teenager.

Friends took to social media to express their sadness and pay tribute to Kyrece, who is understood to have attended Great Marlow School where floral tributes have been left this morning.

Megan James tweeted a photo of Kyrece in a Chelsea football kit with the message: “RIP Kyrece, you were an amazing guy; you were too young to be taken like that. We will miss you xx.”

Cameron Almand tweeted: “RIP Kyrece. One if the kindest people on earth. You didn't deserve this, you had so much going for you - gonna miss u mate.”

Stunned residents also paid their respects to the popular youngster, who is believed to have played football for the Downley Dynamos.

Lorna Webb posted on the BFP’s Facebook page: “RIP Kyrece - such a young age. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends, a very popular boy in Marlow and Downley xxx.”

Susan Little wrote: “Such a popular boy that will be greatly missed by many. Thoughts are with his family and friends. Too many taken too soon x.”

Serena Knows uploaded: “This has actually devastated the whole community, without even being able to imagine how heartbroken his family feel... my heart is shattered without knowing the boy!”

Thames Valley Police confirmed it was not treating the death as suspicious and a report would be submitted to the Buckinghamshire Coroner.

The coroner’s office - which is yet to officially confirm the identity of the body - said the inquest is expected to be opened on Thursday.
