A CHARITY dedicated to helping children suffering from cancer has received a boost this week after winning a bedstead donated in a fundraising raffle.

The item was donated by Dreams to raffle following The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund midnight "Dream" walk, which takes place every June in Great Missenden.

The event is held in memory of Misbourne school pupil Thomas Ball, who died from neuroblastoma in 2003 aged 14.

Kirsty Watson an employee of TGI Fridays in High Wycombe was presented with the faux leather bedstead at Dreams in Loudwater.

Elaine Ball, chair of the charity, said: “We are so grateful to receive such a fantastic amount of support from two High Wycombe companies and Kirsty winning the bedstead was very well deserved.”

A nursery will also do its bit for the charity this week as it allows its children to raise money while enjoying a day of fun and sport.

The Willow Tree Nursery, in Chapel Road, Flackwell Heath, will hold its annual sports and fun day celebrations to collect for the charity on Friday, August 8.
