A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was the victim of an attempted child abduction in Chesham, police believe.

Two men tried to talk the girl into getting into the back of their car after driving up to her and drawing up alongside.

Police investigating the incident have now launched an appeal for information to help trace the men.

The girl was walking along Pheasant Rise between Garrett Close and Five Acres at around 7pm on Monday, August 11, when what police describe as an older style black Ford Focus drew up alongside her.

The car stopped and a rear seat passenger got out of the car and encouraged the girl to enter the car. She did not get in, and the car drove away up Pheasant Rise.

The driver, who remained in the car throughout the incident, is described as mixed race, aged around 25 years old, with short black shaved hair. He was wearing a blue hooded top with a zip up the front and black trousers and wore a white watch on his right hand.

The man in the back seat is described as mixed race, also aged about 25 years old, with short black shaved hair. He was wearing a red hooded top with a zip up the front.

Investigating officer Ch Insp Bobbi Rai said: “I would like to reassure the community that we take all reports of this nature seriously and we are investigating what has been reported to us.

“I am appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of incident and may have information about what they had seen.”

Anyone with information on the incident should contact the Chesham Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Sure this is a serious enough incident to warrant to need a proper description of the perpetrators?
Mixed Race? what is Mixed race? It seems that there is a reluctance to state which race these people fall into which smacks of positive discrimination. In cases like this Race shouldn't be an issue apart from trying to find the people who did this?
