A VET is looking for the owner of a poorly cat which was rescued after it was knocked over by a car in High Wycombe.

A male Siamese cross was found by a member of the public on Friday in Queen's Road opposite The Rye after he had been hit by a car.

They called Companion Care Vets which is based at Pets at Home in Wycombe Marsh who arranged for a volunteer to pick the cat up.

When he came in they realised the cat had a broken back leg. He is not micro chipped and they would like to find his owner.

Julia Fry, who took over the vets this week, said: "It seems remarkably comfortable. At the moment all we are doing is keeping it here and hoping its owner will come forward.

"It is a nice cat. It has been well looked cared for. It definitely had veterinary work done previously.

"It is an old male castrated cat."
