AN 85-YEAR-OLD woman died when she hit her head after falling down the stairs at her home, an inquest heard.
Patricia Butler was found dead by a care worker who had called to check on her at her home in East Street, Chesham, at 7am on July 28.
A post mortem concluded she died as a result of a severe head injury, although it also showed the retired nurse also broke six of her ribs in the fall.
Buckinghamshire's assistant coroner Crispin Butler recorded a verdict of accidental death.
