Child wins national award after completing swimming challenge
THE nephew of a man whose life was saved by air ambulance crews following a motorbike accident, has been crowned an ‘Outstanding Young Person’.
Jayden Butcher, who is taught at Thorpe House School in Oval Way, was nominated for the Air Ambulance charity award after swimming 200 metres in recognition of their good work.
He found out in November that his long swim was enough to scoop the award and Thorpe House headmaster Mr Ayres presented the award to the year 1 pupil last week alongside head of Pre Prep, Mrs Doran.
