Two houses on neighbouring Marlow roads were targeted by burglars within minutes of each other this week, with police linking the two crimes.

An attempted burglary took place at about 5.20am on Monday in Station Road. An offender or offenders attempted to gain entry via a bathroom window.

A burglary then took place at about 5.30am on the same morning in Beaumont Rise, which runs parallel to Station Road.

Thieves gained entry via a rear French door, stealing an acoustic guitar, cash and personal effects, including bank cards.

The two incidents are believed to be linked.

It comes after a mini crime wave in Marlow this week, with two break-ins at Marlow business on Tuesday, including a cigarette theft at Waitrose in the early hours.

And a failed bank robbery attempt on Tuesday added to a busy week for Marlow officers.

Anyone with information about this incident should contact investigating officer PC David Cannon, from High Wycombe Local Area CID, via the 24-hour enquiry line 101.
